The Institute for GOD launches Church Matching Scholarship

The Institute for GOD is pleased to announce the Church Matching Scholarship, launching in Fall 2024. This new program aims to support both incoming and current full-time students dedicated to their biblical studies and ministry preparation.

Understanding the Scholarship

The Church Matching Scholarship will match any church-sponsored scholarship funds up to $2,000 per year for eligible students, potentially offering them $4,000 or more annually towards their biblical education. This opportunity is available to full-time, on-campus undergraduate students from any Christian denomination, helping to make theological education more accessible.

Why This Scholarship?

Many churches allocate their budget across various ministries but may not prioritize funding for the advanced training of future ministry leaders. (Some do, and we pray others follow in your example!) Through this scholarship, The Institute for GOD is encouraging churches, Christian camps, and mission agencies to support their students who are committed to serious biblical and ministry training. By matching the scholarships provided by these bodies, The Institute aims to encourage more robust support for students pursuing a life of ministry.

Eligibility and Application Details

  • To qualify, students must be enrolled full-time, maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5, and apply with the endorsement of their church.

  • Both incoming and current students are eligible.

  • The application deadline to the Financial Aid Office is July 1st.

  • Students are encouraged to initiate discussions with their church leaders to explore potential support.

In Conclusion

This scholarship initiative is designed to foster closer partnerships between churches and their members pursuing dedicated ministry training. For further information or assistance with the application process, please contact Katherine Dunning, Director of Scholarships, at katherine.dunning@instituteforgod.org.

Specifics
Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and all scholarship contributions must be directed through the Institute by specified deadlines. The Church Matching Scholarship cannot be combined with certain other scholarships, such as the Phoenix Scholarship or program scholarships. The Community Church for GOD already extends regular support to our college and our students who attend the church on campus. Because of this, C4GOD is not participating in this initiative.
